Cause

Noun: Any agent of will, power, force or action that creates, forms, initiates, decides, acts, moves, controls, changes, affects, or otherwise produces effects = results. The "northern" pole of the Cause-Effect Polarity Spectrum. RESPONSABILITY is the point of transition between Cause and Effect.

Verb. tr.: The action of originating, starting, creating, controlling, changing, moving, affecting, or effecting something. The action of producing an EFFECT. Synonyms: to create, to produce, to effect. Notice that to effect, to carry out an action, is a synonym of the verb CAUSE.
