Psycanics as a Human Operating System
In the field of computers, an "operating system" is
a basic, underlying program (set of instructions) that runs in
the background and controls the machine, thereby freeing the applications
to concentrate on their particular function. The applications, such programs
as word processors, spreadsheets, music players etc., run "on top" of
the operating system. Examples of common operating systems include:
Windows, Linux, UNIX, DOS and MAC.
Every society has its "operating system" that consists of
thousands of ideas, paradigms, beliefs and rules about how life is and
how it should be. These are duly passed on from generation to generation.
The cultural operating system determines to a large degree how the person
thinks, feels and acts. On a macro level, it determines the social peace,
power, success, and wealth of the society. In fact, the difference
between one society and another is the difference in their operating systems.
Does a human operating
system exist that is universally effective in guiding
a person to success,
love and happiness?
For example, a person who grows up in the US has a different
way of looking at life, different values and behaviors, from a person
who grows up in Japan or Ireland or Iraq. The Japanese, for example,
are famous for respect and obedience to elders and authority—not American
values. If you take a Japanese baby and grow it up in the US with
the American operating system, you have an American, not a Japanese, person. It
is the operating system that determines who the person is, not the body.
Another example, I lived in Mexico for 25 years: I
can pinpoint the differences in operating systems between
the US and the Mexican culture systems that make the US an economically
wealthy society and Mexico a relatively poor one. Furthermore, no
political or economic program will ever change the poverty of
Mexico, or any other "third world" country, while they continue
operating with the paradigms that have produced that poverty.
If you have ever lived with a person from another country,
you have undoubtedly experienced the effects of such differences. And
when beings from outer space arrive, their operating system will be so
different from ours as to make our understanding each other difficult.
There are thousands of cultural operating systems in the world:
each culture is one, each religion is one, each political and each economic
theory is one. Humanity is torn apart by disagreements and conflicts about
which of the all these belief systems are the "good" ones, the "right" ones.
Contrast this multiplicity of conflicting systems with the
fact that in the hard sciences, there is only ONE system of data, universally
agreed upon and used by all in total harmony. The physical sciences are
operating systems for handling the material world. Physics, chemistry,
biology, etc. are one and the same over the entire planet. Everybody agrees
to and uses the same ideas, laws and principles to understand and manipulate
the physical universe.
There are two kinds of operating systems: Belief
Systems and Knowledge Systems. Belief systems are those that have
no objective proof of their validity. Knowledge Systems are those
that do—the sciences. Notice the enormous differences between
the two kinds of operating systems: Belief Systems are many, contradictory
and conflictive. Knowledge Systems are one, universally agreed upon, and
there is harmony.
Psycanics enters here with the question:
Does there exist an effective and universal HOS: Human Operating
System?—one that is a Knowledge System and not a Belief System?
Is there any set of ideas, principles and paradigms that are true and
apply to all humans regardless of their culture? Does a human operating
system exist that is universally effective in guiding a person to success,
love and happiness? Are there any rules of mind, emotions, behaviors,
and relationships that are universal to all humanity and that absolutely
produce results? Is there a science of the non-physical aspects of life
as powerful as the physical sciences?
Psycanics answers YES: there is such a system, and it is
psycanics. Psycanics is a science of the internal operation of
the human being, a science of spirit, being, love and happiness. It is
an operating manual for the human spirit. It is valid for all people
in all times and places.
